Hiawatha Northington II - Senior Attorney
BiographyHiawatha Northington is admitted to practice in Mississippi and Texas. He has served on the Diversity in the Law Committee of the Mississippi Bar and the Amicus Committee of the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association. He also serves as an adjunct professor at the Mississippi College School of Law and at Tulane University - Madison.
Hiawatha has previously held the position of Barrister in the Charles Clark Inns of Court in Jackson, Mississippi. Hiawatha has also served as speaker and lecturer to the American Association for Justice, the Mississippi Association for Justice, and the Magnolia Bar Association. He is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and in 2001, he was named Lawyer of the Year by the Mississippi Conference of the Branches of the NAACP. In 2010 and 2011, he was named a Rising Star in Mid-South Super Lawyers.
Hiawatha is also active within his community, serving as a Founder, Vice Polemarch and Polemarch of the Canton-Madison (MS) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of The Beautiful Foundation. He has also served in the past as a youth basketball and football coach and on the Board of Directors of the Oaks House Museum and of the Crossroads Film Society.
