Biography

Jovian V. Scafati joined Smith & Fawer, LLC prior to her graduation in 2022 with the highest distinction of summa cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

A gifted writer and communicator, Jovian was an Articles Editor for Loyola Law Review and served as a research and teaching assistant for Dean Blaine LeCesne. As a member of Loyola’s Advocacy Center, Jovian served as both a coach and competitor for Loyola Moot Court’s National Team.

Jovian’s practice focuses on insurance litigation, professional liability litigation, property and environmental litigation, government relations, community property, and trusts, estates and successions.

Born and raised in New York City, Jovian lived in eastern Wisconsin prior to joining Smith & Fawer, LLC and attending law school in New Orleans. During her time in the Midwest, Jovian graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Homeland Security and a minor in Culture, Media, and Gender studies from Marian University. Jovian worked in the public sector, assisting with emergency preparedness, and in the insurance industry, adjusting property, auto, and liability claims.

Jovian resides with her son in the Greater New Orleans area.
